Green & White Winter Wedding Inspiration at Rushton Hall

While peak wedding season is typically between May and September, we’re now seeing more and more couples opt for a celebration in the colder months of the year.

When it comes to winter weddings, there’s definitely a lack of inspiration available, especially for couples looking for something a little more luxe. With that in mind, I thought I’d share some inspiration from a past styled shoot at the stunning Rushton Hall.

Rushton Hall is a 16th century country house nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside. Specialising in luxury weddings, the Grade I listed hotel and its spectacular grounds formed the perfect backdrop for our shoot, planned & photographed by the wonderful Natalie Stevenson Photography.

We wanted to step away from burgundy and gold for this shoot (as much as we do love it) and create a more modern colour palette fit for a luxe winter wedding, and so opted for deep emerald green, white and silver.

THE FLOWERS

The talented Kate Wren Flowers put together several different setups throughout the venue for the shoot, with a focus on bountiful botanicals and elegant white blooms. For the ceremony set up, Kate created an elegant aisle of winter florals, leading up to a meadow where the bride and groom were to stand. Another meadow was also recreated outside the stunning orangery, to be used for couple portraits.

The large bridal bouquet is bursting with an abundance of greenery, giving it a slightly wild and wintery feel with heaps of texture from the foliage and berries. The white florals add a touch of elegance, with roses and stocks stealing the show.

THE TABLESCAPE

We opted for an intimate sweetheart table for this shoot with room only for two. The table was nestled in lush greenery and romantic florals, with candles scattered around too for a cosy wintery feel.

The table itself was styled thoughtfully with elegant bud vases filled with classic white roses.

For the menus, I chose a deep emerald green card with a clean, minimal design which was printed in silver foil. The deckled place cards were also a deep green and were finished by hand with elegant silver calligraphy for an extra luxe look.

THE INVITATION SUITE

I decided to keep the stationery designs quite minimal for this shoot, as I knew I wanted to showcase the elegance of the foil and tie everything in with the classic feel of the styling. The delicate leafy illustrations give a subtle nod to the winter botanicals in the floral designs.

I wanted to include a foiled venue illustration as part of the suite, as the facade of the venue is so beautiful, it would have been rude not to!

All of the elements of the invitation suite were printed with silver foil on luxury deep emerald paper and paired with luxury grey envelopes and white wax seals.

THE CAKE

The talented Nina from Erzulie Cakes created yet another showstopper for this shoot. The stunning four tiered cake was displayed on a floating cake stand, so each tier appears to be floating above the one below, rather than stacked on top, which added a truly dramatic feel to the design. The deep green tiers were linked together with a sweeping silver branch that had been delicately crafted, adding a softer more ethereal element.

THE BRIDE & GROOM

The bridal look was understated and elegant, with stunning dresses by Stephanie Allin from Morgan Davies Bridal. The bride’s makeup and hair was done by The Grey Room, who put together a classic and romantic look, with a hint of red lipstick and Hollywood waves for a touch of glam. All accessories were bespoke creations by Rachel Sokhal Bridal. The groom was dressed in a striking emerald green suit, which contrasted beautifully with the bride’s white gown and truly showcased the colour palette to perfection.
