Table Name Ideas For Your Wedding

If you’re having a sit-down meal at your wedding, chances are you’ll be needing a seating plan of some description and of course some table names. Now, I know that seating plans are a notoriously tedious part of wedding planning but they are a necessity (unless you’re wanting a wedding breakfast with a side of chaos).

To make things a bit more personal, why not get creative and come up with some unique table names that reflect you as a couple? Table names are a great opportunity to express yourselves and inject a bit of personality into your day. You’ll have fun coming up with the different options and I guarantee that your guests will appreciate the personal touch too.

You can even get creative with your designs and include photos or illustrations to make them stand out (they make wonderful keepsakes too!).

I love when couples tell a story through their stationery, and table names are a great way to do this. Whether it be landmarks from the city you got engaged, countries you’ve visited together or bands you both love, the possibilities are endless.

I’m now in my 6th year of business as a wedding stationer, so have seen my fair share of seating plans and thought I’d put together a list of ideas that might inspire you for your own wedding.

Without further ado and in no particular order, here are some ideas for table names:

1 - Numbers (a classic)

2 - Countries/places you’ve visited together

3 - Landmarks of a city that means something to you

4 - Favourite pubs/restaurants

5 - Beaches you love

7 - Places you’ve lived

8 - Festivals you’ve been to

9 - Favourite bands

10 - Favourite songs

16 - Favourite sweets/snacks

17 - Favourite books

18 - Plays/Musicals

19 - Favourite films (could even include a favourite quote)

20 - TV shows you love to watch together

I could definitely go on but hopefully they will provide you with a bit of inspiration.

Don’t forget that if you want to work with a stationer for your ‘day of’ stationery, make sure to leave plenty of time to get booked in. A lot of stationers like to book couples in around 8 weeks before the wedding, so be sure to bear that in mind.
