If you’re reading this blog post, the chances are you’re at that really exciting stage of your wedding planning. Your venue is booked and now you can start looking at suppliers and all of the fun stuff like colour palettes and flowers. Next thing on the list is to tell your loved ones to save your date!
Let me just preface this by saying that as much as I love save the dates, they’re by no means a necessity. So if you’re planning your wedding in a short space of time or are on a tight budget, I’d advise you to skip straight to invitations.
Save the dates are great for:
Couples having a slightly longer engagement.
Couples having a destination wedding.
Couples that have lots of guests that will have to travel far to attend their day.
If you are wanting to send out save the dates for your wedding, you can do so as soon as you’ve booked your venue if you’re really excited, or you can wait until 10-12 months before your date. If it’s any closer than that, I’d recommend skipping straight to the invitation stage.
Without further ado, here are 10 of my favourite House Collection save the date designs (in no particular order).
1 - HERMIA
This design is very classic with its white watercolour bouquet and contrasting dark green foliage. Its minimal colour palette makes it perfect for elegant weddings all year round.
2 - BEATRICE
Bursting with pastel watercolour florals, Beatrice was designed with spring in mind. I love the peach and white tones in this design, complemented perfectly by the fresh greens.
3 - ELINOR
If you want to give your guests the ultimate sneak peek of your wedding, this design is for you. The venue illustration can either be done in watercolour or in delicate pen and ink, if you prefer a more monochrome look. Bonus points if your venue is as pretty as Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in the south of France.
4 - ESTELLA
This minimal design was created with frosty winter mornings in mind but the pale green botanicals can also be perfect for spring and summer weddings too.
5 - NATASHA
If you’re getting married around Christmas time and want a seasonal design, this one’s for you. The delicate watercolour branches give a subtle nod to all things festive, while still appearing understated and elegant.
6 - OLIVIA
Featuring an abundance of red, burnt orange and gold leaves, this design was made for autumn weddings. The delicate watercolour foliage truly captures the colours and textures of the season.
7 - VIOLA
Inspired by lush spring gardens and wildflower meadows, the Viola design is perfect for couples wanting to celebrate all things floral. If the colour palette isn’t for you, this design can be customised to match your own wedding flowers.
8 - EMMA
This save the date is for couples looking for something a little more classic. The neutral grey is perfect for those of you that may not have decided on a colour palette yet and is great for weddings in all seasons. The calligraphy script adds a touch of romance to the design too!
9 - PENELOPE
Featuring a delicately illustrated olive branch, this minimal design is perfect for couples having a destination wedding. The neutral colour scheme makes it great for weddings all year round too!
10 - AMY
Last but by no means least is Amy. This leafy save the date is another one that’s great for couples that may not have chosen their wedding colours or flowers yet. The lush green leaves can be suited to weddings in any season.
