We may be well into the thick of autumn but when you work in the wedding industry, you’re almost always planning a season or two ahead. I’ve been busy working on so many lovely spring wedding invitations lately. With spring on the brain, I’ve been inspired to share a peek of this gorgeous shoot I was lucky enough to be part of.
The concept for this shoot was dreamed up by the wonderful Natalie Stevenson Photography, who wanted to create an elegant, ethereal editorial with a dream-like feel and an abundance of intricate details.
The setting of Moggerhanger Park was perfect for this editorial At a first glance, you wouldn’t believe that the historic Georgian era house, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside was in the UK at all. The warm tones and overall style of the building, give it a Mediterranean feel, making it the perfect backdrop for this dream-like shoot.
The soft colour palette of peach, cream and shades of blush give such a romantic feel and the pale pastel tones are simply perfect for the season.
The stunning floral designs were created by the talented Sara from Queen & Eden, who truly brought the venue to life with opulent floral installations throughout. With classic roses in soft shades, fluffy peonies and delicate ranunculus, the florals truly exuded luxury and romance. Texture was also an important element throughout the shoot, and could be see in abundance through the gorgeous flowers and foliage. Sara put together beautiful floral displays both inside and outside the venue, including on the staircase, framing the outdoor tablescape and enhancing the cake table.
The tablescape was a celebration of all things pastel. With a pink and white patterned tablecloth adding to the dream-like effect, elegant white and gold dinnerware and pale blush taper candles, the final look was both sophisticated and romantic. Sara’s florals really added to the ethereal feel of the design and added an extra element of texture.
For the table stationery, I decided to keep everything quite classic and minimal as I knew that anything too intricate would clash with the more detailed elements. The place cards continued the blush theme and were finished with elegant gold calligraphy. They were paired with minimal menus, which were printed on white textured card that had been hand deckled to give the effect of soft, pillowy edges. The design featured a delicate illustrated wreath with botanical details.
For the invitation suite, I went for a classic design with a hand-drawn venue illustration, paired with sweeping calligraphy and soft deckled edges to add to the dream-like effect.
The suite also features a delicate, illustrated monogram with leafy details and a blush handmade paper envelope, sealed with a white wax seal to complete the look.
Nina from Erzulie Cakes, created a cake that was a masterpiece to behold. Complete with four white tiers that were expertly embellished with blush ombre sugar work, inspired by the beautiful Millia London gowns and their delicate ruffles. If you look closely, you can see that Nina also finished the ruffles with tiny sugar flowers to add an extra level of detail and romance.
There were several bridal looks throughout the day, with a stunning selection of dresses from Morgan Davies Bridal, along with the striking ruffle dresses by Millia London in both white and pink, that truly brought the dream-like theme to life.
The looks were finished perfectly with intricate accessories by Rachel Sokhal Bridal.
